Artist's Statement:
'I look for interesting shapes, pattern, texture and light in the landscape. Sometimes it may be the angle of the way the light hits the surface of a rock, or the complex patterns formed by snow on an evergreen that will inspire me. Choosing to paint in oil or watercolour depends on how I see the subject. I like to use colour and texture in layers, allowing the shape and light to dominate, focusing on the way shapes interconnect. In my watercolours, it is essential that the light and glow comes from within, that the image projects that light. I live in a naturally beautiful area surrounded by water, trees and rock. This landscape offers me unlimited opportunites to capture all of the above.'
